GrowGreen Power of Boulder, Colo., has selected Anson County as the site for its first greenhouse and solar, thermal and biomass power-plant project, the company announced today.


The $250 million project that combines a 50-acre greenhouse with a 43.65-megawatt co-generation power plant is expected to create 300 permanent jobs. The greenhouse will initially produce tomatoes, and the power plant will generate 37 megawatts of electricity to be sold to the local power grid.

GrowGreen had announced in May that it had selected the Piedmont region of North Carolina for the project after a nationwide search..  Read more here...
